The Road and Bridge Department is seeing an increasing amount of problems related to trees in the township road right-of-ways. Many of the existing, maturing trees that are planted in the township road right-of-ways have branches/roots interfering that cause many problems to the streets, sidewalks, pipes and to service vehicles. Therefore, on August 14, 2018, the Board of Trustees passed a resolution banning the planting of any tree in any right-of-way adjacent to, or associated with, a township road. This resolution also allows for the Township remove or trim a tree that is growing in or encroaching onto the right-of-way of the township roads if the Board sees it necessary (a good faith effort to contact the property owner will be made first).
